IELTS Writing Task 2  – Unhealthy Food

Many people like to eat unhealthy food even though they know it’s bad for them.

Why is this? What is an effective way to improve people’s healthy eating habits?

The prevalence of a hectic lifestyle has led to increased consumption of fast food, which is known for its adverse effects on health. A practical approach to maintaining a healthy diet involves dedicating time to preparing meals, reaping numerous benefits.

Body 1

Extended working hours pose a challenge for many individuals, making it difficult to find time for meal preparation. This often results in turning to fast food options, rich in saturated fats and enticing flavors, which can lead to overconsumption. Additionally, the regular intake of sugary beverages, packed with sugar to boost energy, contributes to the deterioration of one’s health. A sedentary lifestyle further acts as a catalyst for making the body unhealthy. Despite these concerns, fast food tends to be addictive, prompting individuals to consume larger quantities to achieve the desired fix.

Body 2

An effective strategy to enhance eating habits involves meal preparation. During weekends or time off, people can pack their own nutritious meals, store them in the refrigerator, and easily reheat them when needed. Abundant tutorials guide individuals in preparing protein-rich meals with vegetables, devoid of the additives and sugars found in fast food. Beyond improving dietary choices, meal preparation also serves as a form of exercise. Spending a few hours a day planning and creating meals, coupled with the physical activity of selecting fresh produce at the market, contributes to a healthier lifestyle.

In conclusion, the necessity of working longer hours often leads to the sacrifice of health through the consumption of fast food. To address this, adopting a healthier lifestyle, specifically by preparing meals in advance, is recommended.
