What technology do you use at work?

In addition to the usual gadgets, at our school, we have access to various technologies. For instance, we utilize oscilloscopes, which play a vital role in our field. These devices allow us to visualize the wavelength of electricity.

What technology do you use for studying?

We utilize iPads for most subjects, but for specific topics, we have our own ohm meters. These meters help us measure voltage and resistance. During practical applications, we frequently use these meters to become well-acquainted with reading electricity and measuring voltage.

Which subjects are you currently studying?

I’m majoring in electrical engineering, focusing on the fundamentals of electricity and mastering a range of basic to advanced terminologies that are integral to our field.

What motivated you to choose this subject?

From a young age, I’ve had a passion for tinkering and fixing electrical appliances. This fascination ultimately led me to pursue a career in electrical engineering.

Do you have a fondness for your subject?

Yes and no. I find the subject enjoyable when it involves hands-on applications. However, I sometimes find myself disinterested when there’s an excess of memorizing codes and standards.

Does the subject captivate your interest?

Absolutely. The subject matter is intriguing to me because what I learn directly applies to my daily life. For instance, understanding how electricity is transferred helps me comprehend the wiring systems in homes.

Are you excited about entering the workforce?

Yes, I’m eagerly looking forward to working, not only to afford the things I desire but also to provide financial support to my parents.

Do you have a preference for studying in the morning or afternoon?

Mornings are a bit challenging for me in terms of productivity. I find that my mind functions better and I’m more productive during the afternoon.

Why did you choose to do that type of work (or that job)?

Well, I’ve dabbled in various businesses before, including real estate and marketing. However, in the end, I found myself feeling unhappy and even started to despise those jobs because I was just doing them for the money. When I decided to pursue my current job, it gave me a sense of accomplishment. Knowing that people are happy with my work at the end of the day or on the weekends just makes me genuinely happy, even though the pay isn’t all that impressive compared to some other jobs.

Do you like your job?

Yeah, I enjoy my job because it strikes a balance between predictability and unpredictability. I have set hours from 8 to 5, which is predictable, but there’s also the element of unpredictability because you never know what’s going to happen next. It’s the perfect mix that keeps things interesting, so I don’t get bored.

Is it very interesting?

I’d say it’s quite interesting, especially for introverts like me. It offers the opportunity to interact with people, but not an overwhelming number of people. There’s a consistent level of communication throughout the week, usually with a minimum of two weeks of continuous interaction before meeting new people. This slower pace allows you to learn a lot from them, which is one of the reasons I chose this job, even though the pay isn’t the highest.

Do you miss being a student?

I do miss being a student, not so much for the lessons, but for the ability to focus solely on myself without worrying about other responsibilities. When I was in college, I worked during my last two years, so I don’t miss that part. What I miss is the carefree life without the weight of family responsibilities and financial concerns.

What work do you do?

I work as a freelancer. I started freelancing back in 2007, initially as a side gig, but now it’s my full-time job. I handle various tasks like tech support, social media marketing, web design, and Google Ads. Currently, I’m also involved in coaching, which we conduct via Zoom or Skype.

Who helps you the most? And how?

I was fortunate to have surrounded myself with many supportive individuals, but I would say Daniel has been the most influential in helping me harness my potential. He promoted me and entrusted me with responsibilities when I didn’t believe in myself. He provided opportunities for skill enhancement and even paid me during training, something you don’t typically find elsewhere. Thanks to him, I became proficient in web design, which opened doors for web development and other opportunities. He allowed me to explore new horizons, and I’m grateful for that.
