What city do you live in?

I’m based in [Insert name of city], positioned on the eastern side. It takes a five-hour flight to reach here from Beijing. It’s truly an amazing city, offering pleasant temperatures, particularly at this time, and boasting numerous water-related activities that tourists can indulge in.

Do you like this city? Why?

Yes, I’m quite fond of this city due to the multitude of conveniences it provides. Living here ensures that everything I require is within minutes of reach, which helps me utilize my time more effectively.

How long have you lived in this city?

My family and I relocated to this city back in 2013, and since then, we’ve found it to be a satisfying and enjoyable place to live.

Are there big changes in this city?

There have been notable developments, including major road expansions and the construction of improved commercial and residential structures.

Is this city your permanent residence?

Despite owning a house in [Insert name of other city], this remains our primary address. At least for the foreseeable future, there are no plans to relocate to another city.

1. What city do you live in?

Currently, I live in Fujian City, a coastal city very close to Taiwan. It is quite far from Beijing. If you land at Beijing airport, it might take several hours by train, or sometimes you have to fly domestically, so it’s quite far. I would say it’s totally different from Beijing. The city is quite relaxed, although it is considered a city, it’s much more relaxed than Beijing or Shanghai.

2. Do you like this city? Why?

Well, to be fair, since I grew up in this city, I would say I grew fond of it. Although there are some things we can criticize about the city, overall, I like it. I’ve been to different cities, but at the end of the day, the people here are friendly, the environment is better, and most of the people I know are from here. So, I’ve grown fond of the city.

3. How long have you lived in this city?

Since my grandparents and parents are natives of Fujian, I’ve lived here since I was born. Although I might leave soon for study abroad, this will always be my hometown. As far as I know, my parents don’t have plans to move, and I don’t see any immediate opportunity to go somewhere else, but that’s still up in the air.

4. Are there big changes in this city?

I was born 20 years ago, and when I see pictures of my grandparents and parents, I can see how much it has changed. Fujian used to be a farm state, but as it developed, you now see skyscrapers and much better buildings. Before, there were hardly any establishments, but now we have a decent mall, and some businesses are thriving here. So, there have been big changes.

5. Is this city your permanent residence?

Yes, this is still my permanent address, and we don’t have plans to move. Although I might leave temporarily, I find that Fujian is a better place to live. Land is much cheaper than in Beijing, so if I try to find my own place, I would still choose this city to find an apartment or a house.

6. Are there people of different ages living in this city?

It is a really good place for raising a family. The businesses here are enough to sustain a small family, so you see people of all ages—from toddlers and infants to adults and seniors. This is also a good spot for those who plan to retire.

7. Are the people friendly in the city?

Compared to Beijing and Shanghai, where time is of the essence, in Fujin you still see people stopping by and having conversations with strangers. So, I would say it’s friendlier compared to other cities. There are no crimes and no hate crimes, so based on those stats, I can confidently say our city is friendly.

8. Is the city friendly to children and old people?

When it comes to facilities, there are enough to make the city friendly to both young and older people. We have rails to support older people if they need to walk alone, and there are paths where children can cross the street without any problem. There are also playgrounds and parks, allowing them to relax and have fun.

9. Do you often see your neighbors?

Unfortunately, since our schedules differ, I tend to study at night and rarely go out during the day. My neighbors are old and tend to go out very early to the market, so we barely see each other. We often meet during festivals or sports events.
