IELTS Writing Task 2 – 教育 History In School
Some people think learning history in school is important. Others think learning subjects more relevant to life is important. Discuss both views and give your opinion.（教育）
Introduction
Some people consider history important because it describes the mistakes of the past and enables us to learn from them, while others suggest that subjects like science and technology are far more important. Personally, I believe that both are crucial for our success in life, and sometimes we have to look at the past to know how to move forward.

There are people who argue that history is very important because it shows the decision-making of people in the past. These accounts, written by individuals who have witnessed the mistakes of previous generations, serve as cautionary tales of what to do and what not to do in the future. As a student, this is valuable as it provides a reference for our actions. For example, in the First and Second World Wars, we learn from the actions of our forefathers and the catastrophic events that ensued, impacting even countries not directly involved in the war. Through history, we learn what to avoid and how to prevent such situations in order to achieve a peaceful life.

On the other hand, some argue that science and technology should be the focus. This is because progress requires us to know what to do and what tools to use in order to advance our civilization. By maximizing our resources and time, we can achieve prosperity, which in turn provides everyone with sufficient resources to share. After World War II, countries realized the need to improve their resource capabilities, leading to a focus on science and the development of technologies that we now enjoy, such as agricultural technology for sufficient food production and technology that makes our work easier and more productive, contributing to economic stability.
Opinion
In my opinion, both history and science and technology are equally important. In order to move forward, we need to look back and understand past events, giving us a clearer view of the path ahead. Drawing from the example of World War II, we understand that the lack of resources can lead to desperate actions. History teaches us this lesson, and science and technology provide the means for us to avoid repeating the same mistakes as our forefathers. We need to work together, share technology, and improve our farming and communication technologies to progress.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the argument about the importance of history versus science and technology is unnecessary. Both are equally important and should be integrated well into our daily lives.
