Sample 1

So my family and I went to [insert place]. If my memory serves me right, it was around a couple of months ago; I think it was before the school year because the reason we had to go there was that a close relative was getting married. It’s a six-hour drive back and forth, and there’s no option to take public transport as it’s a little bit far. Therefore, we decided to rent a car. My dad was the one who drove, and unfortunately, I don’t have a driver’s license, so I wasn’t able to drive the car either. Since it was a rented car, we didn’t want to have any scratches, so my dad and mom were the ones who drove.

During the journey, we had a lot of conversations. It was the first time we had a talk in a couple of years. We had both been very busy, so we never really had a chance to talk. Besides having a heart-to-heart talk, we also saw a lot of scenery and met a couple of people when we stopped to refill the tank. We encountered new people and saw many scenic places, so we took a lot of pictures. I think it was one of the best journeys so far because it allowed us quality time together. My parents and I were free from the distractions of daily life, and we didn’t have a lot of distractions during that journey, so we had plenty of time to talk and catch up. We managed to express what we felt during this time, making it a very productive journey.

Of course, when we arrived at the wedding venue, we were able to have even more fun there.

1. What benefits does public transport bring to the world?

Firstly, public transport allows many people, especially those with low incomes, to commute to their destinations, enabling them to generate more income for their families and access better job opportunities. Additionally, it stimulates the growth of various businesses such as train and bus stations, creating more job opportunities for people. Lastly, public transport itself generates numerous jobs, from bus drivers to construction workers and mechanics.

2. Is it too late for people to get a driver’s license at the age of 18?

In some countries, 18 might still be considered young to obtain a driver’s license. For example, in China, where the focus is often on academics until around 21 years old, teenagers usually start driving at a later age, making 18 too young, especially for Chinese people.

3. What qualities does a driver need to have?

One essential quality is strong reflexes, enabling the driver to maneuver the car quickly in emergencies, such as avoiding debris or falling branches during a storm. Another crucial trait is the ability to remain composed and handle road rage situations effectively.

4. Do you think the government should make it a rule for people to use public transport?

Instead of making it a rule, I believe the government should encourage the use of public transport. Implementing it as a strict rule might burden people living far from public transport options, leading to difficulties during emergencies. It may also be challenging to enforce on a national scale, but regional approaches could be more effective.

5. Which jobs require people to be good at driving?

Professions like EMTs and ambulance drivers require exceptional driving skills as they deal with life-and-death situations, navigating through traffic quickly and safely. Fire truck drivers also need to be proficient as they handle large and heavy vehicles during emergencies. Freight delivery drivers must excel in driving due to the responsibility of transporting valuable cargo on time.

6. Do you see driverless cars as the future of cars?

While we can expect a rise in automated cars in the future, it may not become prevalent in our lifetime. Many people are still accustomed to human drivers, and there are still several issues and errors to resolve in driverless technology. Human drivers can make decisions that automated systems might not be equipped to handle, making it challenging for driverless cars to fully replace human drivers in certain situations.
