What’s the weather like where you live?

I reside in [Insert Place], which is close to the Pacific Ocean. During this time, we experience frequent rainy days, and in summer, the area becomes quite hot.

Do you prefer cold or hot weather?

I find myself more comfortable in colder weather. It’s easier to regulate body temperature with hot tea or a warm bath. However, cooling down during summer, such as cranking the AC, can be quite expensive.

Do you prefer dry or wet weather?

I favor wet weather, as it’s more convenient to use moisturizing cream to counteract the dampness, rather than dealing with the challenges of hot weather that can lead to skin issues.

Are you in the habit of checking the weather forecast? When/How often?

I seldom check the weather forecast, usually only during specific times of the year like the rainy season. I tend not to bother with the app when I’m out and about during the summer.

What do you think are the effects of climate change in recent years?

From what I’ve noticed, the weather has been becoming more severe. We’ve been experiencing heavier rainfall and frequent droughts in our country.

Would you like to visit other cities that have different climates from where you live?

Considering I’m based in [Insert Place], I’m intrigued by the idea of exploring Europe and encountering diverse weather conditions. I’m aware that countries farther north often have cold seasons.

1. What’s the weather like where you live?

During this time of the year, the weather is somewhat reminiscent of the ’80s, according to my mom. It gets very hot around 10:00 until 2:00, then there’s usually a downpour from 4:00 until 6:00. In the tropics, this is considered typical weather, although there have been changes due to urbanization and development. Recently, however, it seems to have reverted back to its old pattern, with older folks recalling this as the customary hot and wet afternoon weather.

2. Do you prefer cold or hot weather?

While I haven’t experienced extremely cold temperatures, I still prefer colder climates, around 18 to 21 degrees Celsius. The reason being, cold weather is easier to handle with warm clothing, whereas in hot weather, cooling down becomes a challenge, especially when working with computers. I have a server lab at home, and during the summer, the excessive heat can cause malfunctions. So, I’d rather live in a colder climate, around 19°C, to maintain a more comfortable environment for my computer systems.

3. Do you prefer dry or wet weather?

Dry weather is preferable for me as it’s easier to manage, especially when compared to the discomfort of feeling sticky and oily in wet weather, particularly when outdoors.

4. Are you in the habit of checking the weather forecast? When/How Often?

I only check the weather forecast if I have travel plans, which isn’t very often as I’ve been living in the same place for nearly two decades. In my area, we don’t experience extreme winters or heavy snowfall, so carrying an umbrella for shade during the hot sunny days or rain during the rainy season is usually sufficient.

5. What do you think are the effects of climate change in recent years?

Climate change has brought about extreme weather conditions in some areas. For instance, temperatures that were once considered high at around 35 degrees Celsius are now reaching an index heat of 52 degrees Celsius where I live. This drastic change has made going outside feel like having a high fever while sipping hot coffee. Additionally, we’re experiencing more severe rainstorms, with storm categories going as high as seven, which was previously unheard of. It’s alarming to witness such drastic changes in weather patterns.

6. Would you like to visit other cities that have different climates from where you live?

I’ve been intrigued by several cities outside my country, particularly the UK, because of its diverse climate. Although somewhat similar to my country with its erratic rainfall, experiencing the constant rain and gloominess firsthand in places like London fascinates me. Despite the lack of sunlight that some people mention, I’m curious to experience it myself and return home with a newfound appreciation for sunny days, as they say, “You can’t enjoy a sunny day without rainy ones.
