IELTS Speaking Part 1 – Riding a Bike
- Did you have a bike when you were young?
- Did you ride a bike when you were little?
- Did you ride a bike to school?
- Do you ride a bike when you go out now?
Did you have a bike when you were young?
- When I was in primary school, I recall asking my parents for a bike. However, they mentioned that I was still too young and promised to buy me one once I started high school. Unfortunately, they never followed through, and the topic gradually faded from our conversations.
- Yes, I received a bike for my birthday, but I can’t recall the exact year. I’ve had it for many years.
Did you ride a bike when you were little?
- No, after that initial discussion, the idea of having a bike didn’t really cross my mind. Seeing my friends ride bikes never sparked a strong desire within me.
- No, I received my bike when I was already in primary school so unlike my other friends I didn’t have the chance to have a bike when I was in toddler, As soon as I got my bike I just didn’t enjoy it, it was just a means of transport.
Did you ride a bike to school?
- Since my school was within walking distance, I didn’t feel the need to use a bike unless my parents were unavailable to drop me off or pick me up.
- Even though my house is quite close to the school, the road is very busy. As a result, my parents aren’t confident about me biking to school, so they regularly drop me off and pick me up. Oftentimes, I just walk to school.
Do you ride a bike when you go out now?
- Currently, I primarily rely on buses or trains for transportation when going out. I don’t frequently travel within our town, and for longer distances, I can drive, so owning a bike isn’t necessary for me.
- I use a motorbike because it’s faster and more efficient than a regular bicycle.
