IELTS Speaking Part 1 – Life Stages

1. What did you often do with your friends in your childhood?

Besides studying together, most of my friends and I used to hang out around town on weekends or Fridays. We’d grab snacks from a convenience store and just chat about life, discussing our dreams and sometimes sharing our personal problems or challenges. Some friends would offer advice, while others just enjoyed the time together without taking things too seriously.

2. What do you think is most important at the moment?

Based on what I’ve read, I believe personal peace, or inner peace, is crucial right now. While focusing on studies to secure a job is important, the future is unpredictable, especially with social media enabling overnight fame and wealth. Regardless of success or failure, personal contentment and inner peace are essential for a fulfilling life. Even amidst anxiety, having inner peace can make life much easier to navigate.

3. Do you have any plans for the next five years?

My plans for the next five years mainly revolve around my studies. I’m considering going to the UK to immerse myself in the culture there. During this time, I aim to have fun, meet new people, and network with different individuals to grow personally.

4. How do people remember each stage of their lives?

It’s interesting how people tend to associate different stages of their lives with their school years. High school memories, for example, are often vivid because they occur during a specific age range. Each school grade represents a distinct phase, and people learn to remember stages of their lives based on these school divisions.
