1. What films do you like?

  • I’m a fan of comedies, especially Chinese comedies, as they’re easy to relate to compared to Western comedies. I also have a keen interest in thriller movies.
  • While I’ve watched some international movies, I do have a preference for local films, particularly drama and comedy genres. They offer a simple form of enjoyment for me.

2. Did you often watch films when you were a child?

  • Unfortunately, no. I spent most of my time hitting the books or playing basketball, so I didn’t have many opportunities to watch movies.
  • During my childhood, I was more exposed to books, and our TV time was quite limited. We rarely watched movies, and when we did, it was usually short, funny clips.

3. Did you ever go to the cinema alone as a child?

  • There was one occasion during my senior year of high school when I really wanted to see a particular movie, and my parents were busy. So, I decided to go to the cinema by myself.
  • I wasn’t allowed to go out without supervision as a child, so I always went to the cinema with my parents. It wasn’t until my teenage years that I had the opportunity to go with friends.

4. Do you often go to the cinema with your friends?

  • Although I enjoy watching movies with my friends, they don’t share the same passion, and they’re often busy with other activities, particularly basketball, which they prefer.
  • Recently, due to academic commitments, we haven’t had the chance to watch movies together as often. In the past, we used to go about three times a month.

5. Do you think going to the cinema is a good way to spend time with friends?

  • Yes, it can be a great way to spend time with friends. When we watch movies together as a group, we not only have a good time but also feel safe, especially compared to hanging out or playing games where accidents can happen.
  • Yes, it’s a good way to spend time with friends, even though there are alternatives like watching movies at home. Going to the cinema allows for activities like window shopping while waiting or having a chat at a cafe after the movie, making it a well-rounded social experience.
